Tranzlate Travel

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tranzlate Travel (“Tranzlate”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you use the mobile app. Contact support@tranzlatetravel.com with privacy questions.

1. Information you provide

Account and profile information may include your name, email address, profile photo, date of birth, country, preferred language, biography and other details you choose to provide. Sign-in credentials are handled through Firebase Authentication; Tranzlate does not receive your Google or Apple password.

You may sign in with Google or Apple. We receive the account identifiers and profile details those providers make available. If you use Apple Hide My Email, we receive and use the Apple private relay address associated with the sign-in. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

2. Trips and planning information

We process the information needed for your trips and planning tools, such as destinations and dates, itinerary and booking details, stays and transport, budgets and expenses, packing lists, reminders, favourites and trip photos. If you create or join a shared trip, its information is made available to the authorised trip members.

Flight details support calculated and manually adjusted progress displays; we do not receive live airline, airport or aircraft tracking data for this feature. Local reminders are scheduled on your device from the planning information you provide.

3. Social, chat and community information

We process social profiles, connections, posts, photos, comments, reactions, messages, image messages, reviews, Tranzlate Places drafts and published entries, reports, moderation status and related timestamps. This content may be visible to recipients, trip members, other users or the public community area depending on the feature and settings.

Chat messages are stored so they can be delivered and synchronised, and are not end-to-end encrypted. Reports and moderation information are available to authorised reviewers and may be retained to investigate abuse, enforce our rules and protect users.

4. Location and place information

If you grant permission, the app may process precise current device location and selected place coordinates for maps, nearby discovery, weather, distance and timezone resolution. We also process place searches, selected destinations, Google Places identifiers and place details. You can deny or withdraw device location permission, although affected features may not work.

5. Photos, files and Travel Documents

Images you select for an avatar, social post, chat, trip cover, trip photo, review or Tranzlate Places submission may be compressed, uploaded and linked to the relevant account, trip or community content.

Travel Documents, including the file and details you add about it, are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to Firebase or the Tranzlate backend. Device backups and operating-system storage may still handle local app data according to your device settings.

6. Notifications and reminders

We use Firebase and your device platform to deliver chat, social, invitation, account and other notifications. Itinerary and flight reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Notification preferences and a device notification identifier may be stored so messages can reach you. You can change notification permissions in device settings.

7. Visual Packs and rewarded access

Visual Pack catalogue information and thumbnails are shown in the app, while downloaded packs and their installation information are stored locally on your device.

Some Visual Packs may require watching a rewarded advertisement before download. Tranzlate uses Google AdMob and Firebase to verify that an eligible rewarded ad was completed and provide access to the requested pack. Information needed to verify the reward and prevent fraud may be processed for this purpose.

8. Advertising, consent and analytics

Free users may be offered banner and rewarded advertising through Google AdMob. Google’s User Messaging Platform updates consent information, shows regional privacy messages when required and controls whether the app may request ads. A conditional Privacy choices control is shown when Google says it is required.

Tranzlate currently requests non-personalised ads, and Google may apply limited ad serving where appropriate. Advertising is requested only when Google’s consent and privacy system permits it under your current choices. If ads cannot be requested or loaded, normal app use continues, although a feature that requires a rewarded ad may be unavailable or use the alternative shown in the app. Pro users do not see the ordinary ad experience.

The app does not request Apple App Tracking Transparency permission and does not currently use an IDFA-dependent advertising flow. Firebase Analytics collection is currently disabled.

9. Subscriptions and purchases

Apple’s App Store or Google Play processes Pro subscription purchases and payment details. We receive purchase, restore, store association and subscription-status information needed to verify purchases, provide Pro access, restore access and prevent fraud. This may include whether a subscription is active, cancelled, expired, refunded, revoked or temporarily in a store-reported payment recovery or grace period. We track Apple and Google subscriptions separately and do not directly receive your full payment-card details.

10. AI and generated content

Some Tranzlate content and imagery may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence, including Destination Guide content and imagery, Explore artwork and Visual Pack artwork. The information needed to create and review that content may be processed by OpenAI.

Ordinary account information, private chats and Travel Documents are not used as inputs to these editorial AI-generation workflows. Translation tools process the text or image content you choose to translate, and speech features process the audio you choose to provide through the relevant on-device or platform services.

AI-generated content may contain errors or become outdated. Generated destination imagery is illustrative and destination-inspired and may not show a specific place exactly as it exists in the real world. Important travel information should be independently verified where appropriate.

“Reviewed by the Tranzlate team” means the published guide has been reviewed by the Tranzlate team. It is not continuous fact-checking, professional certification or a guarantee of accuracy.

11. External services and data recipients

We use service providers to operate Tranzlate: Google Firebase for accounts, synchronised information, uploads and notifications; Google Places and Maps for place and map features; Apple WeatherKit for weather; Frankfurter and Fawaz for currency information; Unsplash for selected destination imagery; Google ML Kit and device/platform services for translation, text recognition and speech; Google AdMob and its consent platform for advertising and privacy choices; OpenAI for editorial AI generation; and Apple’s App Store and Google Play for purchases.

Viator supplies experience, availability and review information. When you choose Book with Viator, the app opens an external Viator page. Tranzlate does not process the booking or payment, but may receive an affiliate commission or referral benefit from eligible transactions. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Local and backend storage

Your device stores information needed for offline use and faster loading, including cached trip and planning information, Travel Documents, downloaded phrasebooks and Visual Packs, currency rates and app preferences. Removing the app or clearing its storage may remove information that exists only on that device.

Tranzlate’s online services store account and profile information, synchronised trips and planning information, social and chat content, uploaded images, reviews, reports, community content, notification details, subscription status and information needed to provide Visual Packs. Some online information is also cached on your device for speed and offline use.

13. Why we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; provide, synchronise and personalise requested features; enable sharing and communication; process purchases and rewarded access; provide support; moderate content; prevent abuse and fraud; comply with law; and maintain and improve reliability. Depending on context, we rely on performing our agreement with you, legitimate interests, consent or legal obligations.

14. Sharing and public visibility

Tranzlate does not sell personal information for money. We share information with service providers only as needed for the purposes described above, with other users when you use shared or social features, with authorities or advisers where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety, and in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. Some privacy laws use “sale” or “sharing” more broadly for advertising disclosures; where applicable, Google’s privacy choices let you exercise the available opt-out rights.

Published posts, profile information, reviews and Tranzlate Places content may be seen and copied by other users. Avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information in public or shared content.

15. Retention and deletion

We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal, tax and store obligations, and maintain security. Retention differs by record type and provider; backups and logs may remain for a limited period before deletion or overwrite.

You can request account deletion in the app. We delete or anonymise account-linked information where appropriate. Some information may remain when needed to preserve legitimate community contributions or conversations involving others, complete transactions, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes or comply with law. Personal attribution may be removed or restricted where appropriate. You may need to remove local-only files from your device separately, including by deleting them or the app.

16. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including authenticated access controls and encrypted network connections, but no service is completely secure. Protect your account and device and do not store irreplaceable originals only in the app.

Our providers may process information in Australia, the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your home country. We use provider and contractual safeguards where applicable.

17. Your choices and rights

You can update available profile data, manage trip sharing and content controls, change device permissions and notifications, use Privacy choices when shown, cancel subscriptions through the relevant store and request account deletion. You may ask to access or correct personal information or raise a privacy complaint by emailing support@tranzlatetravel.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent or complain to a regulator. Australian users may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if a concern is not resolved. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

18. Age, changes and contact

Tranzlate Travel is not intended for people under 16. We use date of birth during profile setup to enforce the current minimum age. Contact us if you believe a person under 16 has provided personal information.

We may update this policy as the product, providers or law changes. We will state the revision date and provide notice where required. For questions, requests or complaints, email the Tranzlate Travel team at support@tranzlatetravel.com.
